Kalyana Retreat

A psychedelic practice for people walking the path together

In Pali, kalyāṇa-mitta means spiritual friend, the companion who supports you on the path

Kaylana Retreats

A four-day medicine retreat for couples and friends, in pairs or small groups

Learn a therapeutic psychedelic practice you can keep, with a companion to keep it with.

When Ananda suggested to the Buddha that spiritual friendship is half of the spiritual path, the Buddha replied that it is not half, but the whole of it. Kalyana was created in that spirit. You come with a partner, a sister, a friend, or a trusted companion, and you leave with a shared practice and someone to sustain it with.

A spiritual friend is a sacred mirror

Many who work with psychedelics already know how powerful the medicine can be for self-reflection. Yet even in our deepest journeys, we need help seeing our blind spots and unconscious beliefs. A trusted companion can reflect back what we can't see on our own.

Solo retreats can bring powerful change, but without an ongoing practice, those changes are hard to sustain. Many of us find it challenging to build a steady, grounded practice at home, especially when it isn't supported, or even understood, by conventional mental health care.

These offerings are close to our hearts. As a community, we have been supports and mirrors for one another, and we value that above all else. We'll help you build a practice that fits your life and the relationships that matter most to you.

Join us for a long weekend of practice, learning, and fun.

    What You'll Learn

Our approach treats medicine work as a deeper form of meditation. Drawing on Buddhist teachings and somatic memory integration, we guide you in working with ketamine and cannabis as tools for awareness, presence, and the release of what the body has been holding.

Over four days you'll learn how to prepare, how to hold a session with intention, how to meet what arises with steadiness, and how to integrate afterward. You'll also learn how to support each other: how to hold space for your companion, when to step in, and when to simply be present.

    How the Retreat Works

Each retreat runs Thursday through Monday morning. Your medicine sessions are individual and private, held by our experienced facilitators. Around them, you and your companion share teachings, coaching, and integration, so you go through the experience side by side and build the rapport that will carry your practice forward.

Between sessions there's time to rest in the hot tub, swim, walk the land, and visit the farm's goats.

    The Setting

The retreat is held on a working farm just outside Boulder Colorado. You and your companion stay in a private carriage house with its own bedrooms, a warm kitchen, and a living space for gathering. It's quiet, spacious, and entirely yours for the weekend.

Who is this for?

This retreat is for women who already have a spiritual or contemplative practice and some experience with psychedelics, and who want to bring more structure, depth, and support to their work. You'll apply together with your companion, and each of you will have a screening conversation with our team before your place is confirmed.
